31st Annual Day Celebrations- A Grand Success (Jan 9th 2011)

A REPORT ON THE PHYSICAL DEMONSTRATIONS CONDUCTED ON
31ST ANNUAL DAY OF VIJNANA VIHARA SENIOR SECONDARY RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL, GUDILOVA  (09-01-2011)
            As a part of the 31st annual day celebrations an hour long physical demonstrations were presented.  Students diving through fire rings, breaking through an array of tube lights, rolling over each other, climbing one over the other, mesmerized the audience in a meticulously planned show.
            The event started with rhythmic tunes played on the schools musical band over flute, bigul and drums.  Muscle stretching exercises and yogaasanas narrated the physical caliber and stamina.  The coordinated effort amongst the students was observed in building various types of pyramids on ladders, stools, parallel bar and horizontal bar exhibited in the show.  Breaking of burning tiles, diving through a fire ring positioned over a van, various feats on motorcycles, diving over tables, wrapping crackers over the body, motor cycle dives over students through flames were exhibited with courage and enthusiasm.  Pyramids were presented on mallakhamb, an ancient Indian event in wrestling.  Students walking and rolling, balancing over one another performed a variety of exercises in combination.  The rhythmic Nagaland dance with bamboo sticks was a centre of attraction while other acrobats left the 5000 strong audience spell bound.  Earlier the demonstrations were inaugurated by Sri.Ch.Manavendranath Roy, 1st Additional Metropolitan sessions judge, Visakhapatnam. The event was graced by Sri.T.Chakravarthy, Secretary, Vivekananda Group of Institutions, Chennai, Prof. N.Upendra Reddy, SCERT, Hyderabad, Sri.Alluri Krishnam Raju, Old Student of Vijnana Vihara and cine hero, Sri.S.Satyanarayana, Additional Joint Collector, Visakhapatnam
